Sara Lasseter arrived in Austin in 2009 to attend The University of Texas at Austin. In 2013, she joined the Ambassador Committee and got her first taste of the positive impact this organization offered to the community and to individuals looking for a place to grow, learn and connect. After leading the Ambassador Committee as Chair for two years, Sara joined the board to continue her service to the community and members of AYC. She currently works at Austin-based INK Public Relations, driving media and analyst relations, brand image development, and thought leadership for cyber security, energy, and human performance assessment companies.
After graduating from UT with a B.S. in Public Relations and a business minor, Sara joined Austin-based agency Ketner Group PR + Marketing. At Ketner Group, she helped retail technology companies find their voice and build a public-facing presence that represented the spirit of their organization. In 2015, Sara dove into cyber security and other B2B tech at SHIFT Communications, a Boston-based tech and consumer PR agency acquired by Canadian firm NATIONAL in spring of 2016. Sara also serves on the Programs Committee for Austin’s chapter of the Public Relations Society of America.
As a Texas native, Sara’s love of AYC, tacos and the outdoors have anchored her here in Austin. After three years of involvement and supporting AYC’s mission, she is thrilled to continue her service on the Board in 2017.
