Each month, the Austin Young Chamber will highlight a member who is doing extraordinary work to strengthen our businesses, our community…or both! Showcasing their achievements is just one way we can put a spotlight on the talented, collaborative, and community-focused workforce we have here in Central Texas.

This month we honor Felicia Morales, Senior Digital Strategist at Amplify Credit Union.

Felicia joined the Austin Young Chamber in 2019 because of the opportunities AYC has to offer members and our community. As a mom, Felicia didn’t have the luxury to attend many of the Happy Hour events common in the business community. With AYC’s wide variety of programs, Felicia has been able to find the right fit for her, giving her the flexibility to engage with other young professionals and still take care of her family. She believes in AYC so much she was able to get her employer on board as a Corporate Member and she joined the young chamber’s Ambassador Committee soon after.

Fun fact: Felicia wanted to work in the music industry and used to work at House of Rock in her hometown. During her time there, she found her passion for business, specifically in marketing.

Now serving as Senior Digital Strategist for Amplify Credit Union, Felicia manages all paid advertising for the credit union with a focus on their Real Estate and Commercial products. Felicia loves that her job helps others in both direct and indirect ways, stating that “many people don’t realize that credit unions are not-for-profit, which means that our earnings get distributed to our members in the form of better rates”. When it comes to her employer, she says, “I also love how Amplify allows me to give back to Austin, especially during this uncertain time. We are in constant communication with our Texas community, notifying them of the steps we are taking to ensure the personal and financial health of our employees and members.”

In addition to her full-time role as Mom and at Amplify, Felicia is also in the current Leadership Austin Emerge class, a Board Member for the Austin Chapter of Credit Unions, and of course an Ambassador for AYC. As a community leader, she is most passionate about affordability, homelessness, and mental illness, issues that her family dealt with throughout her childhood.

When asked what advice she would share with other young professionals, Felicia responded: “Come to an AYC event! Even if you have to come alone the first time like I did, you’ll soon find yourself connecting with like-minded people that share your interests. Making these meaningful connections are key to achieving the goals you set for yourself.”
