Each month, the Austin Young Chamber will highlight a member who is doing extraordinary work to strengthen our businesses, our community…or both! Showcasing their achievements is just one way we can put a spotlight on the talented, collaborative, and community-focused workforce we have here in Central Texas.

This month we’re excited to honor Ali Carr, Founder and CEO of ATX Promos.

Ali joined the Austin Young Chamber more than a year ago with an intention to get more involved within the community. One of her favorite events of the year is the annual Casino Social. Her claim to fame was being announced as the 2019 Casino Social Texas Hold’em Champion. “I was the only female at the final table with the least amount of chips. I remember looking around the table and telling myself, ‘slow and steady wins the race,’ and then I guess I played my cards right.”

She quickly joined the Leadership Service Committee (LSC) because she was searching for ways to positively impact the community. “In December, we teamed up with the Sustainable Food Center to bake cookies and deliver them to isolated seniors,” she said. “The Drive a Senior board members were incredibly thankful that we were able to support their mission, and we felt rewarded knowing that we truly had an impact. Our next volunteer opportunity is March 7th at Urban Roots from 9 a.m. – 12 p.m.

As the founder and CEO of ATX Promos, Ali has more than a decade of experience in strategic branding, marketing campaigns and promotional product advertising. As distributors of promotional productions and logoed apparel, they provide everything from t-shirts to drinkware, tech items, tradeshow giveaways and more. “We not only supply promotional products, but we also educate our clients on the power of promotional products if used strategically.”

When asked what advice she would give a young professional looking to start their own business in Austin, Ali said, “You have to put in the work. Learn to get comfortable with being uncomfortable because that’s where the growth occurs. When you begin to achieve success, stay humble. And when you’re going through hard times stay strong. Circumstances are always shifting and changing.”
