ChangeMaker Finalist: John Zozzaro

The Austin Young Chamber would like to recognize and pay tribute to this year’s ChangeMaker finalists. The ChangeMaker Awards are part of the 2nd Annual LEAD Summit Luncheon on February 15, 2019. This year’s twelve finalists are inspiring leaders who have a passion for dedicating time and talent to successfully make a difference in our community.

John Zozzaro is the founder of MediaTech Ventures, a venture development organization with a focus on moving public, private, and corporate capital into Media Technology innovation. Working with partners all over the world, MediaTech Ventures is creating a more transparent and efficient media economy that empowers creative entrepreneurs, helps city governments identify and develop their creative sectors, while partnering with corporations to help fuel these efforts. He’s also the founder of Collective, an education + incubator hybrid that helps bridge the gap between creators and technology. Collective helps up-skill professionals or gives them a platform to launch their own ventures.

John has a background in music, marketing and sales. Starting out on his entrepreneurial journey at the age of 19, John fronted the band Train Company for almost a decade, touring all over the country performing with bands such as Blues Traveler, Counting Crows, Dawes, and Delta Spirit. During this time he developed a strong passion for marketing and entrepreneurship, he has since co-founded and launched two marketing agencies before relocating to Austin with his wife Coralie, and son Coen in 2016. You can find John around town in his red pants mentoring at various startup programs in Austin, while working directly with creative entrepreneurs to lead the future of innovation.
